Dr. Shapiro is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Beverly Hills, California. He offers individual psychotherapy and couples or family counseling. Dr. Shapiro received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. After graduation, he completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Wright Institute Los Angeles (WILA) where he received in-depth psychoanalytic training while working with adults and couples. Dr. Shapiro is currently engaged in a formal postdoctoral program in psychoanalysis at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS). 

From 2014-2019, Dr. Shapiro also worked as Department Faculty of Applied Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. He taught doctoral students courses in all aspects of clinical theory and practice, with a primary focus on Psychodynamic Theories and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy; as well as guided students in their doctoral research. In addition, Dr. Shapiro has taught at The Maple Counseling Center, the Reiss Davis Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship Training Program, and the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles. He is currently a part of the Teaching & Supervising Faculty at the Wright Institute Los Angeles.
