ABOUT DR. SHAPIRO
Dr. Shapiro is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Beverly Hills, California. He offers individual psychotherapy and couples or family counseling. Dr. Shapiro is currently engaged in a formal postdoctoral program in psychoanalysis at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS). He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. After graduation, he completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship at the Wright Institute Los Angeles (WILA) where he received in-depth psychoanalytic training while working with adults and couples.
Dr. Shapiro is also Assistant Professor of Applied Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. He teaches doctoral students courses in all aspects of clinical theory and practice, with a primary focus on Psychodynamic Theories and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. He also guides students in their doctoral research. In addition to his current post, Dr. Shapiro has taught at the Wright Institute Los Angeles, The Maple Counseling Center, the Reiss Davis Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship Training Program, and the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles.
